College Scout Visits New Girls Volleyball Club to Observe Talent
Sign-Up for Black Volleyball Club Ends Soon
Coach Mykeia Crogier, Head Coach of the St.Clair County Volleyball Club (SCC), promised parents she would get their daughters seen by college scouts, and she is delivering.
Coach Shamekia McDowell, Assistant Volleyball Coach of Harris-Stowe State University, stopped by SCC tryouts Saturday to assess the local talent that might come out of the new Black volleyball club.
“I drove over to scout for future collegiate volleyball players,” says Coach McDowell, who’s a 1st season Assistant Coach of the Harris Stowe Hornets. “Coach Mykeia contacted with me at one of our volleyball games. She told me they had started a new volleyball club. I soon messaged her asking if I could come scout some of the girls.”
Coach McDowell says she plans to follow the SCC Volleyball Club and looks forward to building an ongoing relationship with Coach Mykeia and SCC. “There is a lot of volleyball talent in the St.Louis area and we (scouts) are looking for it,” explains McDowell.
The 2015-2016 club volleyball season starts in weeks. Club fees can be paid in installments. The window for SCC club sign-up ends soon. Click sign-up today!
